What Passport Day In The USA Means To You
On this day only, you can apply for your passport at a Regional Passport Agency without an appointment. You may apply for standard processing,(currently 4-6 weeks wait) or pay an additional $60 for expedited processing, (2-3 weeks).
In addition to allowing you to apply for your passport without waiting, Passport Day is also a great way to get out and enjoy fun events and activities for you and the kids throughout the U.S. In one location in New Jersey, the local passport office will be providing free passport photos for those applying. Other locations throughout the U.S. will be offering other special events and activities as well.
Despite earlier complications associated with the possible government shut down in the past, this September 17th is a day that you can look forward to enjoying. Make time next weekend to go out, enjoy the day and get your passports. Be ready to travel around the world by making sure that you have everything in order by getting your passport.
