New York
The city of New York is always considered an ideal destination for cultural travel. Otherwise known as the Melting Pot, the history of New York that makes it so special includes the huge difference in the cultures that make up the city. Once the most common destination for those coming to America, there is really no single culture that represents New York today and that is part of it’s draw.
Art is one way to express ones culture so often, art and culture are considered synonymous with one another, and so, we welcome you to one of the big events focused on this aspect of the world, the Frieze Art Fair.
Frieze Art Fair – May 4-7 2012 – Randall’s Island Park, Manhattan, NY
Featuring over 170 of the most well known contemporary galleries in the world, visitors to the Frieze will have the opportunity to explore art from around the globe from over 1,000 of the world’s leading artists. In addition, other activities include talks, programs, discussions, lectures and projects by the Frieze artists.
The Museum of Contemporary Art – Australia
Slated to reopen in March since a massive redevelopment, the Museum of Contemporary Art offers some of the most amazing art and exhibits in the world. The only museum dedicated exhibiting, interpreting and collecting contemporary art from both its native Australia as well as the world, it was first opened in 1952 and fashioned after the vision of John Power. Relocated in 1989, the MCA has been offering wonderful exhibits and art representing culture from around the world. Closed since early 2011, March offers the beginning of a new era of the world famous museum.

This spring was our first trip to New York and it was amazing! The architecture alone made it one of the most amazing places we have I have ever seen. Even the buildings that they use everyday represent history. Though I have just started traveling, I am sure this will always be one of my favorite trips.
